Programs

We've been helping Central Oregon youth find their sparks for over 100 years.

Our programs combine elements of outdoor adventure, leadership and service. We help kids of all ages find their sparks, develop a growth mindset, learn goal management, take time to reflect, and thrive. Explore all we have to offer below!

K-5th

Camp Fire Afterschool | K-5th Grades

A fun, nurturing and engaging place for kids to grow and learn after school. Our Thrive{ology} curriculum inspires our age-specific, growth mindset programs in a stimulating environment fostered by caring volunteers and staff. Offered 5 days a week at Amity Creek Elementary and Bend International School, starting Fall 2023.

Tech Programs | 2nd-7th Grades

Our after school tech programs are all about problem solving, getting creative, exploring new ideas, and having fun! From First LEGO League to intro robotics and coding clubs, these programs build important life-skills, instill confidence, and help kids find their sparks.

ExplOregon | K-6th Grades

Camp Fire Central Oregon has expanded its outdoor education programs, with a focus on offering more of our high-quality camp experiences to kids in Central Oregon. This new, very nature-based program, plus its activities and field trips, all offer a ton of fun and a chance to explore + in Oregon = ExplOregon! Come enjoy our half-day, full-day and even week-long camps, where Camp Fire kids will discovering environmental “gems” right in our own back yard, checking out some of the amazing things our area has to offer.

Special Events:

One-off outdoor programs, Kids Night Out, community events, outreach and more!  We're always brewing up something fun for Central Oregon youth. Stay tuned for new events and activities like Kids Night Out, a fun evening of games, activities, crafts and dinner, offered by Camp Fire staff and volunteer babysitters who are trained and certified by Camp Fire.

6th-12th

Teen Connects | 6th-12th Grades

Teen Connects offers service projects and fun outings for teens looking for volunteer experience. Many programs will be free, while others may carry a small fee. Participate occasionally or every month — we are excited for any teen to join us as we make a difference and make friends!

Tech Programs | 2nd-7th Grades

Our after school tech programs are all about problem solving, getting creative, exploring new ideas, and having fun! From First LEGO League to introductory robotics and coding clubs, these programs build important life-skills, instill confidence, and help kids find their sparks.

Babysitter Training | 5th-8th Grades

Whether your child is gearing up to take care of siblings, or thinking of making a little extra cash as a babysitter - they won't want to miss this educational, hands-on course! Participants will learn important babysitting skills including basic child care and first aid, safety measures, safe play with children, and job ethics. Babysitting certificates are given at the end of the course.

Babysitter Volunteering at Kids Night Out | 5th-8th Grades

This is an opportunity for Camp Fire certified babysitters to volunteer, providing daycare for our youth, ages 2-11. Our next Kids Night Out at Amity Creek Magnet at Thompson Elementary will be released soon!

No School Days

No-School Day Camps | K-5th Grades

Turn "day off" into a day of creativity and fun! A great way to enrich out-of-school time, our No-School Day Camps give kids the opportunity to find their spark, grow and express themselves in a safe, supportive environment with friends new and old. Our trained and professional staff facilitate a variety of engaging educational activities, new skills, fun games and exciting outdoor play.

Summer Programs

SummerKids | Entering K-12th Grades

Designed for working families, SummerKids weekly camps give your child a place to feel creative, secure and empowered. With great indoor and outdoor spaces, SummerKids offers theme-based camps all summer long. Leadership opportunities are available for 7th-9th graders and Junior Counselor opportunities for 9th-12th graders.

Low cost options and financial assistance are available for all of our programs!

Camp Fire Central Oregon has a long history of providing financial assistance to families in need. We strive to make all of our programs available to as many youth as possible, regardless of the ability to pay.

We recommend applying for assistance far in advance of the programs you are interested in attending, as funds are limited. Programs are open to all and we do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, physical challenges, or sexual orientation.
