Camp Fire’s after school robotics programs are all about problem solving, getting creative, exploring new ideas, and having fun!
From introductory robotics and coding to preparation for competition in a FIRST® LEGO® League team (in fall), these programs build important life skills, instill confidence, and help kids find their sparks.
Camp Fire’s Intro to LEGO® Robotics program is a great chance for 3rd-7th graders to try robotics in a low-pressure, fun atmosphere and with the guidance of our supportive staff. Participants will also learn about FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) robotics competitive teams that take place in the fall. In this 10-week program, youth will explore the basics of building and programming a robot to complete missions, which will prepare those who are interested in joining one of our teams during the next FLL season (Fall 2025).
COST: $250. All reservations include a $10 non-refundable fee.
DATES: April 1-June 3
HOURS: 3:30-5:30 p.m.
WHERE: Bend International School, 63034 O. B. Riley Rd, Bend, OR 97703

THESE EVENTS ARE FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE!
Youth in Bend and Three Rivers will hone their skills to prepare for this year’s FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) robotics competition in Central Oregon. Teams meet once a week for 10 weeks to create a functional robot and innovation project to compete in a regional competition. Youth who had at least some experience as well as those with more advanced robotics skills are invited to join a team.
The 2024/25 theme for the FLL competition challenge is SUBMERGED℠. For this challenge, teams will use creative thinking and LEGO® technology to explore the layers of the ocean and bring their learnings and ideas to the surface as they “sea” into the future.
COST: $350. FLL team participants should be prepared for a full commitment to the team and their teammates. Accordingly, there is a $50 non-refundable fee upon registration.
Please note: Additional costs and travel expenses may apply for teams that progress to the state level competition, including costs associated with travel to the competition.
