Q: Tell us about your personal and professional background, your role here with us, and how that came to be. Also, what drew you to join Camp Fire?
A: I’ve been working in formal and informal education for over 20 years. I was drawn to Camp Fire by the caring mission of “connecting young people to the outdoors, themselves, and others.”

Q: What is your role as Afterschool Program Coordinator in South County?
A: With the Program Manager, I create thematic programming for Camp Fire Afterschool (CFA) at two sites, along with managing the physical and emotional spaces for youth. I will also help train and develop professional development plans for staff.  In the summer, I will act as leadership support for the SummerKids program.

Q: What are your sparks?
A: My main spark would be creativity as I’m a life-long and professional theatre actor and director.

Q: What are your future goals—professional and personal?
A: My goals are to continue working for mission-driven non profits and to be happy and travel.

Q: What's your favorite part of working with youth?
A: I love witnessing youth find their sparks and enjoying CFA.

Q: Why does your job—and Camp Fire—matter?
A: The youth can’t be themselves unless we as youth professionals are helping to create a safe space for them to thrive.
