Designed for working families, SummerKids weekly camps give your child a place to feel creative, secure and empowered. With great indoor and outdoor spaces, SummerKids offers theme-based camps for young people, Kindergarten through 6th Grade, all summer long.
Monday through Friday, your child will learn valuable communication, teamwork and leadership skills as they play, learn and create with friends old and new. Each week, we explore a different theme through: movement activities, science investigations, music, arts and crafts, and environmental awareness.
Campers will be in groups of 8-12 kids based on grade. Staff to camper ratios will be approximately 1:8.
The 2021 SummerKids location is Ponderosa Elementary School.
Contestants get ready for a fun filled camp complete with survival challenges, nature knowledge, and games. Each contestant will join a team and work together to complete Camp Fire Survivor challenges, learn about ecosystems, and try outdoor survival skills. Get ready to be a survivor!
Come solve a mystery! There is no adventure like a good case...there will be scavenger hunts, obstacle courses, and secret clues as you unravel the truth. Get your detective gear on, because we’re going on a mission to discover your spark!
Let your imagination soar in this week of travel through time. Set the dial on your time machine for ancient civilizations in Greece, Egypt, or Asia, visit the Aztecs or Romans, or take a trip to the future! Who knows where else you will go on this wild ride!
The SummerKids Junior Counselor program is designed to give teens practical work experience while exploring their leadership styles and discovering how to flex their strengths. JC's will become role models for younger campers, while still enjoying the fun traditions, songs and games of summer camp. The program lasts for three weeks in total: 1 week of training July 6th-9th, and a subsequent 2 full weeks (5 consecutive days each) of service to SummerKids (service weeks are flexible and chosen by the participant at training).
Grab your lab coats and get ready to investigate the sciences this week, as we make discoveries about chemical reactions, motion, and magnetism. This is your chance to perform experiments and see where science takes you!
This week is all about the arts! We’ll create and participate in a variety of arts and crafts, music explorations, painting, sculpting and songs.
Grab your broomstick and wand! When science meets the imagination, camp becomes magical with games of Quidditch, magic tricks, mystical crafts and potions. It is time to join us for a week of wizardry.
The Amazing Race pairs world travel with games and competitions, as we celebrate this summer’s Olympic games. Campers will “travel” to cities that have hosted the summer Olympics to enjoy fun challenges and practice teamwork skills during this spirited week.
SummerKids Youth Leaders is tailored for teens to add their ideas and voice to all aspects of SummerKids camp. They will have the opportunity to create and lead activities, songs and games for younger campers based on the week’s theme of The Amazing Race. They will use these experiences to build and reflect on leadership qualities and teamwork skills all while celebrating summer with their peers.
Live the life of the stage as we explore what it takes to put on a production both onstage and backstage. Make props, costumes, sets, and instruments to create an unforgettable performance. Parents, guardians, and other special friends will be invited to attend a culminating performance.*
*Performances may be virtual.
Take a trip out of this world as we explore flight through both earth-bound planes and space-bound rockets. Enjoy constellation crafts, wormhole wandering, solar-powered STEM learning, and intergalactic games. This week is astronomical!
