Robotics Programs

Our after school robotics programs are all about problem solving, getting creative, exploring new ideas, and having fun! From introductory robotics and coding to preparation for competition in a FIRST® LEGO® League team (in fall), these programs build important life-skills, instill confidence, and help kids find their sparks.

We have programs customized by experience levels and age groups:

FIRST® LEGO® League Competitive Teams

Youth in grades 4 through 7 hone their skills to prepare for this year’s FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) robotics competition in Central Oregon. Teams meet once a week for 10 weeks to create a functional robot and innovation project to compete in a regional competition.

The 2023/24 theme for the FLL competition is Art in Robotics and the challenge of this year's theme is called Masterpiece. Teams will imagine and innovate new ways to create and communicate art while keeping to FLL core values -- discovery, innovation, impact, inclusion, teamwork, and fun.

*Additional costs and travel expenses may apply for teams that progress to the state level competition, including costs associated with travel to the competition.

New this year: To set our Fall 2023 FIRST® LEGO® League Competitive Teams for the best experience, we will be recruiting parent/guardian volunteers to join us every week so they can feel involved in the competition and the team’s progress. Volunteer sign up information will be sent closer to the start of the program.

Registration

Don't wait to register! High-quality youth programs are in high demand and Camp Fire programs are kept small to ensure a great adult:youth ratio and create the best learning experience possible. That means space is limited and many sessions sell out quickly. If the program is sold out, please add yourself to the waitlist.

We strive to make all of our programs available to as many youth as possible, regardless of the ability to pay.

Learn about and apply for Financial Assistance.

Because we schedule staff, invest in supplies, and plan for expenses based upon the number of youth we are expecting, we must adhere to our cancellation policies.

Most of our fee-based programs require a $10-25 non-refundable fee at registration (unless specifically noted in the program description).
