Youth in Bend and South County will hone their skills to prepare for this year’s FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) robotics competition in Central Oregon. Teams meet once a week for 14 weeks to create a functional robot and innovation project to compete in a regional competition. Our FLL program is offered to youth with a variety of robotics experience!

The 2025 theme for the FLL competition challenge is UNEARTHED®. For this challenge, teams will use creative thinking and LEGO® technology to dig deep and explore, uncovering artifacts to make a better world!

COST: $370. All FLL team participants should be prepared for a full commitment to the team and their teammates. Accordingly, there is a non-refundable $50 fee upon registration.

Please note: Additional costs and travel expenses may apply for teams that progress to the state level competition, including costs associated with travel to the competition.

FLL PRE-TEAM MEETING: Camp Fire holds a mandatory meeting for all FLL team members and at least one parent/guardian per registered youth. This is a meeting for all teams (required) to learn about FLL, receive an FLL survival guide, and learn about the theme of the year!
WHEN: Friday, Sept. 12, 4:00-5:00 p.m.
WHERE: Sunlight Solar Building, 150 NE Hawthorne Ave., Bend OR 97701

Also, we will be recruiting parent/guardian volunteers to join us every week so they can feel involved in the competition and the team’s progress. Volunteer sign-up details coming soon!

Intro to LEGO® Robotics, Spring 2026 | Grades 3-8

This is an opportunity for those with no experience with LEGO Robotics to be introduced to the world of the FIRST LEGO League without the competitive aspect. There will be lessons on building, coding, and completing the missions from the 2025 FLL Season.

This program intentionally leverages youth interest to drive instruction, however the program is NOT just an opportunity to “free build” with LEGOS. An interest in coding paired with a love of LEGOS make for the best foundation for success in this program.

Please note: LEGO Robotics works primarily with the LEGO Technic system, which is a subset of LEGOs that is different from the “traditional” set of LEGOs.

COST: $300. (Reservation includes a $25 non-refundable fee.)
