Camp Fire Central Oregon | Light the Fire Within
Registration now open for Tumalo Day Camp and SummerKids!

Camp Fire offers a variety of opportunities for youth to increase their tech fluency while having fun at the same time. For many youth, robotics is a naturally engaging first step to bridge the gap from being a tech consumer to developing the skills to understand and participate in how the technology actually works.

Our programs vary in length and level, incorporating robotics and drone technology for ages K-8th grade. They range from an introductory sample of what robotics is all about, to robotics teams working together to complete challenges. While we use robotics as a forum to build tangible skills in technology, we also focus on social emotional skills to build confidence, practice collaboration and teamwork, and develop critical thinking and creativity in problem solving.

NASA: Roads on Mars Student Challenge

Join us to explore and compete in a new challenge put forth by NASA and their Northwest Earth and Space Sciences Pipeline, NWESSP, program. ROADS on Mars is a team challenge for grades 3–12 nationally (Camp Fire's teams will be open to grades 3-8). The challenge follows in the path of the Mars 2020 rover and focuses on guiding students in understanding Rover Observation And Drone Survey. Read more about the project on the NWESSP website.

This year’s challenge involves drones, robots, and new missions! There will be an exciting competition in Oregon City, Oregon on April 4th.
