Monday, March 30th 2020
In the face of the COVID-19, Camp Fire has temporarily suspended all regularly scheduled programs until further notice.  We are carefully monitoring the situation and hope to reconnect with our participants in person as soon as it is safe for our community to do so.

In the meantime, you can connect with us virtually! More information here.

What we're monitoring:

The Central Oregon Health Council has put together a very helpful Resource Directory for our community with links to everything from supplies, to mental health support, to legal assistance:

Camp Fire Afterschool:

Following last night's announcement regarding statewide school closures, CFA is closed until April 1st.

At this time we are unable to prorate the program. Thank you for your understanding during these hectic times.

Spring Break "Pack Your Passport" No School Day Camps, March 23rd-27th:

Unfortunately, we will not be holding our Spring Break No School Day Camp.  We just received news that the building we planned to use (First Presbyterian) is closed and, as you know, schools are also not an option currently.

We are very sorry that we cannot provide this much needed service for working families.  We are strategizing other ways that we can support our families while also doing our due diligence to help keep our community healthy.

Families registered for NSDC will get a full credit on their account to be used for future programs.

Teens In Action spring session:

As of now, we will plan to start the next session of Teens In Action as scheduled (with the Firestarters group starting on March 31st and the Teens Ignited group starting on April 1st).

As new information comes in, we will continue to communicate with you. Stay smart and stay healthy!

Thursday, March 12th 2020

At this time when COVID-19 is top of mind for all of us, we want to let you know that we are implementing enhanced protocols to ensure the safety of our youth, staff, and volunteers.

As of now, our programs are running as usual. We know that many families rely on our services and that closing programs would lead to a loss of much needed resources. Now more than ever we should keep whatever normalcy we can, while being vigilant and closely following the lead of the Bend La Pine School District and experts such as the CDC.

We will update this webpage as new information comes in, so please check back regularly.

What we're doing in our programs:

  • Wiping down all surfaces and door handles regularly (every 45min-1 hour) with disinfectant.
  • Having hand sanitizer at the check in and out.
  • Doing mandatory group hand washing, with soap for 20 seconds.
  • Washing or sanitizing before and after going to the playground.
  • Monitoring youth for symptoms and sending them home if they are sick. Another round of sanitizing will happen once the youth has left program.
  • Requiring that any staff members exhibiting symptoms not come to work.
