Tumalo Day Camp CITs (Rising 8th-12th graders)
As the next step towards becoming a counselor, our Counselor in Training (CIT) Program will show you a different side of camp. Tumalo Day Camp is an outdoor camp based in Tumalo State Park. CITs will build on their skills from SkyLeader Training with more group management practice, game facilitation, supervision, and of course songs! CITs are an honored tradition at Tumalo Day Camp as well as a great way to gain experience and have fun. Each CIT will be assigned to a counselor mentor where they will work together to run activities and do projects.
All CITs are invited to camp out on Thursday night. The CITs assigned to work with 4th-6th grade groups should plan to camp out with their group on Thursday night, and the CIT assigned to the 7th grade group should plan to camp out with their group on both Wednesday and Thursday nights.
Mandatory training in early June. To make sure all of our CITs are well trained and know what is expected of them at camp, we will have a mandatory training at Tumalo State Park in early June. Even if you have been a CIT before, training is important to ensure that you bond as a team and that you are a part of planning any special themes or activities for camp. And, it's fun! Details will be sent out in an email prior to the training. Click here to learn more about Tumalo Day Camp.
