BRIDGES: Thailand is underway!

With an incredible group of adult and teen participants, the BRIDGES: Thailand program is harnessing the power of storytelling to raise cultural awareness and shed light on the global issue of human trafficking.

We are very excited about our trip to Thailand in November, where we will be working with a local NGO to learn about sustainable practices for preventing human trafficking. Of course, we will also be soaking up the culture and expanding our global perspectives in that unique way that only international travel can. We will document our experiences along the way with photography, videography and creative writing, and look forward to sharing these stories with our Central Oregon community.

We are working hard to fund this program and need your help! Please support our efforts with a tax-deductible donation to sponsor an individual participant or the group as a whole.

A joint program of Workshops With Purpose and Camp Fire Central Oregon

We have found that instilling a sense of wonder and appreciation for other cultures through international travel is one of the most powerful ways to change our world for the better. We become wiser, and profoundly expand the limits of our thinking, when we step out of our cultural comfort zone and connect with people who, at first, seem different.

In BRIDGES, teens and adults alike will share new experiences, build awareness, create, and bond together through guided international travel adventures. They’ll learn to use photography, videography, and creative writing to share their stories and become agents of change.

Through travel together, as equal partners, team members experience the powerful transformation that stepping into the shoes of a different culture can inspire. We also learn first hand about the tough issues that affect people in other parts of the world. Not only do we learn about these issues, but we learn to use our unique vision, and skills, to affect positive change.

Our guiding mentors are professional photographers, videographers, and storytellers. They’ve led expeditions throughout the world and are ready to engage a new generation of leaders.

Our primary goal is simple: To inspire tolerance, compassion, and personal growth through cross-cultural experience and immersion. To hone participants’ creative skills for sharing their experiences, and broaden their ability to express what they discover about themselves and the world we live in.
